Update: SAB Website Improvements
Posted 5/10/2006

The Science Advisory Board is pleased to announce several recent improvements to the website. We’d like to bring these to your attention as we think you’ll find them to be beneficial changes.

First, we’ve harnessed the power of Google searches to enable you to search The Science Advisory Board website for the information you need.  The homepage search, in addition to the searches available in the Resources section of our website allow you to find specific product reviews, book reviews, product announcements and more.

We have also put the entire database of protocols available from Protocol Online at your fingertips. Protocol Online is a database of research protocols in a variety of life science fields. It contains protocols contributed by worldwide researchers as well as links to web protocols hosted by worldwide research labs, biotech companies...even The Science Advisory Board! Click here to go directly to The Science Advisory Board Protocol section and find the protocols you need.

Another source of information you may find useful has been added to the "Resources" section of our website.  On the navigation menu on the left side of the page, you'll see a link to "LabX".  This site is a forum where buyers and sellers of new, used, surplus, and refurbished scientific and laboratory equipment could find items, negotiate terms, and complete transactions online. If you're in the need for some new equipment, check out the frequently updated listings that include Biotechnology equipment, software, and other supplies.

You’ll also notice a ‘Site of the Day’ feature on the left column of the homepage. We’ll update it daily with attention grabbing, science-related websites that we hope you’ll find worthy of note. If you have a suggestion for the ‘SAB Site of the Day’ or a favorite website you’d like to see featured, please let us know at questions@scienceboard.net. We have also added a prudent quote to the top of the homepage that will be updated periodically.

Our homepage's content has been rearranged.  We hope the new section arrangement will highlight The Science Advisory Board website material that is updated more often, such as discussion forum posts and product and book reviews, by placing this material in a more prominent location.

Finally, we've updated the Careers section to include links to search available position at Sciencejobs.com, as well as regularly updated careers advice and research funding opportunities.

All these changes have been done with you, our members in mind. We are striving to provide fresh content that makes The Science Advisory Board site relevant to your work and a refreshing source of information and community.  We welcome any suggestions or comments that you may have.
