Regenerative Medicine Conference

As many Science Advisory Board (SAB) members are aware, the SAB has recently completed a study on stem cell technologies. Next year, the SAB plans to continue exploring the theme of regenerative medicine and will sponsor studies on tissue engineering and nanobiotechnology. Regenerative medicine, an important and innovative field of scientific inquiry concentrates on a new approach to healing and holds significant promise for medical advances in this new millennium.

In preparation for these studies, Tamara Zemlo, the Director of Scientific & Medical Communications at the SAB will be attending the upcoming, Second Annual Conference On Regenerative Medicine: Rebuilding the Human Body, which will focus on stem cells, tissue engineering, cloning, nanobiotechnology and longevity. The conference will occur on December 2 - 4, 2001 and will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D. C. William Haseltine, Ph.D., the Chairman and CEO of Human Genome Sciences, Inc. is the conference chair. USF College of Medicine, Genetic Engineering News and Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology Society, Inc. are jointly sponsoring the conference.
