25,000 Members Strong
Posted 4/20/2005

The Science Advisory Board is pleased to announce that its membership now exceeds 25,000. Scientists and allied health professionals from over 62 countries have been inducted into The Science Advisory Board in recognition of their professional accomplishments and expertise in their chosen discipline. Our achievement marks us as one of the largest scientific and medical portals on the Internet. Since our founding in 1997, member contributions have made the Web site the place to go to for sharing information, opinions and insights with colleagues from around the world!

Science Advisory Board members—whether they are a researcher in the laboratory or a health care worker in the field—are continually searching for effective means  to expand their level of knowledge. Information is a valuable commodity in disciplines like science and medicine, which continually transform themselves. The Science Advisory Board therefore prides itself in providing its members with resources that are useful, current, and most importantly, accurate.

This information includes profiles of scientists and medical professionals in the Member Spotlight column; book, Web site and product reviews; discussions on science, medical and policy issues in the Discussion Forum and our new Blogs; editorials on cutting edge or controversial topics in the Perspectives column; and job and curricula vitae postings.

Members of The Science Advisory Board are part of a dynamic community that regularly expresses its opinions about the tools and technology of the life sciences industry. These opinions, as obtained through Science Advisory Board-sponsored studies, are already shaping production and development of products in the life sciences industry. The Science Advisory Board is a positive force influencing the future conduct of science and medicine.

Everyone in the medical and life sciences community has opinions to share about the tools and techniques of their profession. The Science Advisory Board is the forum to facilitate this sharing be it through expressing opinions in an online survey, writing a product review or participating in a discussion forum.

The Science Advisory Board makes all of these avenues of information sharing—plus many more—not only possible, but also easy and rewarding. Some of these rewards include professional networking, exclusive previews of new technologies, compensation through the ViewPoints rewards program, consulting opportunities with The Science Advisory Board, and access to a vast array of employment resources available in our Career Center.

“As the fastest growing online organization in the life and biomedical sciences, our ultimate goal of promoting the exchange of ideas in science and medicine is more important than ever,” observes Tamara Zemlo, Ph.D., MPH, Executive Director of The Science Advisory Board. “This remarkable success is due in large part to the outstanding Web site content provided by our membership. Over this coming year, we will continue to offer our members the wide variety of features and benefits they have come to expect and plan to add enhancements that will increase available resources.”
